Brazilian people are always excited about holidays and waiting for it to come, because they are really important dates to enjoy with your family and friends in their country. Three of the most popular holidays are Carnaval, June Parties and Independence Day.
The third best holiday is Independence Day, it happens on September 7th and celebrates Brazil's declaration of independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal, in 1822, it was a really big happening in history. So, the most important thing in this event are the parades that happens all around the country made by schools and militaries, the biggest parade happens in Brasília(federal capital) at the Ministries Esplanade with the presence of the President of Brazil, around 30000 people attend it each year.

In this celebration, the most important things are music, dance, food made by corn, big bonfires and how people are dressed up as farmers.

That is the time when tourism is a big deal and Brazil receive all different people to visit, it happens in all the cities and each one has its own way to celebrate, it happens on the end of February or beginning of March, depending on Easter date, dates vary every year, happens for a whole week, or sometimes more than this, during all day and night long. This holiday traditionally signifies the giving up of meat for Lent and it's celebrated mostly by Catholics, it is believed to have pagan roots, as do many of modern Christian celebrations.
